Step-by-Step Reading Program Level A Book Set
$50.00
This set of 10 decodable readers introduces spellings and high-frequency words in steps. Books 1-3 are twelve pages and books 4-10 are sixteen pages in length.
Description
The written code of the English language is a phonetic code, meaning that symbols are used to represent sounds. Put another way, letters are pictures of sounds. For example, the ‘c’ in cat is a picture of the /k/ sound. Sometimes, two or more letters form a single sound picture. For example, the ‘oe’ in home is a picture of the /oe/ sound.
The ten books in Level A of the Step-by-Step Reader series introduce sound pictures in steps. All the books in this series feature an easy-to-read font and bright pictures that are meant to engage young readers. The number of words and sentences per page and the sentence complexity increases as the series progresses.
Step-by-Step Readers are part of the Step-by-Step Reading Program, a complete curriculum that includes two workbooks and a curriculum book. Level A Workbook 1 covers Steps 1-5, and Level A Workbook 2 covers steps 6-10. The Level A Curriculum book covers all levels and includes assessments, whiteboard exercises, and activity tiles.
